Families

I loved capturing the Stucki family’s adoption in March! It’s hard for me to put into words exactly what I felt that day. But gosh, it made my heart so happy to capture the moment Clark and Lydia legally became Stuckis!

When we got to the Montgomery County courthouse, the cherry trees were all blossoming. It was perfect for pictures! The kids were so excited and so were their parents. I have known Leticia and Bradford for about a year and it has been so amazing to see their transformation into parenthood. They make the transition look so easy, and with two kids, no less! 🙂

During the court procedures, everyone was beaming – Clark, Lydia, Bradford, Leticia, their lawyer and social worker, and the judge. The judge made the process short and sweet and fun for the kids! He even fist bumped Clark and Lydia up on the stand.

Afterwards, the kids played with their parents outside the courthouse while I shot some family photos. Then they newly legal little family went on their way to celebrate with smoothies. I can’t think of a more loving and perfect family for Clark and Lydia. In one of our final photos, Leticia and Bradford were posing with their adoption papers. Clark, who was playing, ran up from behind and yelled, “Mommy! I found you!” The significance of his joyful shout was not lost on any of us. It might be one of the most important moments I have ever captured.

Here are a few photos of the day. You can see more photos of the Stuckis and other families here!
