I love capturing newborns and their families. There is something so sacred about being a newborn photographer and entering a family’s home and peeking into their lives after they have brought a new little soul into the world. Despite the craziness of having a newborn, there is peace and love and all kinds of beauty that sort of makes me want another baby… 🙂

Meeting the Studebakers was great. Karlyn is a wonderful mama – she handles a newborn and 2 year old with grace. Plus, Emmett was 10lbs 8oz when he was born, so she’s definitely superwoman. Her husband Clark was so kind. You can just tell that he loves his wife and that he loves being a dad. Their daughter Railynn adores him! They were just the best little family.

Sometimes taking photos of newborns can be tricky, but baby Emmett made it so easy. He was so calm the entire time! Hardly any fussing at all. After hefting around Jack all day, picking him up felt like nothing. Even though he is big for a newborn, he felt so small in my arms. I was jealous of Karlyn and all the delicious baby snuggles she gets! Isn’t it amazing, though, how no matter how big your baby gets, they still fit in your arms so perfectly?
