Dan and Ashley were married in a romantic bayside ceremony at the Chesapeake Bay Foundation in Annapolis, Maryland. Their day was so beautiful and getting to know them was an honor. They were so excited to be getting married. I don’t know if I’ve ever seen two people radiate so much joy!

Dan and Ashley met when they were in grad school getting their PhDs, and both in the medical field! They were friends at first and both thought the other was cute. Their first date was at the edge of a lake. In her vows, Ashley said that the waves of the lake were crashing so hard against the cement barriers that they started cracking. Even though everything around them was so crazy, she knew that she was completely safe with Dan. Safe and comfortable and she knew, somewhere deep down, that she had found her soulmate.

Dan never believed in soulmates. He told everyone that love was fleeting and that relationships were mostly just about loyalty. Once he met Ashley, though, he changed. He said something in his soul was moved – and deeply. Dan finally began to understand why people talked so much about soulmates. It was because soulmates are real. And Ashley was his. Forever.

Dan and Ashley danced to “Thinking Out Loud” by Ed Sheeran and they were all smiles. They were laughing together, just genuinely happy to be married and dancing to their favorite song. I loved watching them in each others’ arms, wrapped up in their forever person with no doubts about their future together. It was a beautiful thing.

Dan and Ashley have such a special place in my heart. To the Doctors Maher, congratulations on forever!
