Brook Cook. Super mom extraordinaire. (She won’t claim the title, so I’m forcing it on her over the internet because she deserves it!)
I was so glad that I was able to take the Cooks family photos this spring! They are extra special because the Cooks are celebrating Martin’s graduation from VCOM – the local medical school! So now you see – the Cooks are extraordinary not only for raising a wonderful family with 6 beautiful kiddos, but for also doing it while Martin was/is working towards becoming a doctor. If that’s not a superpower, I’m not sure what is.
Brook and I became friends through our church. She and I would connect in the hallways each Sunday and I always left our little chats feeling like she was a ray of sunshine and I had been uplifted. She understood my struggles with postpartum depression/anxiety and she understood how hard it was to have a baby in a new city across the country from your family. I think she has a gift for knowing people – for really getting them. And I’ve been really blessed because of it.
I have loved getting to know their kids, too. Audrie has been a great babysitter for Jack. Carlee and I have had fun in our Activity Days church group. Little Lemon is a wonderful singer in our primary! I haven’t had a big chance to get to know Andrue or Cameron, but from watching them I know that they are growing up to be energetic gentlemen. And Ezra. Little Ezra with the big blue eyes steals everyone’s heart. Everyone. 🙂
We had a great time at their shoot! The kids loved running around, exploring the blossoms, and playing as a family. That is one thing that I really admire about the Cooks – they genuinely love being together as a family. Enjoy these portraits of them 🙂
