There is an old photo of Claire and Evan from high school hanging on their refrigerator. It was their senior year and they were on a boat. Claire and her bestie Anna went to visit Evan while he was working as a camp counselor. The two of them are snuggled in close with huge smiles. When I met up with C + E for their engagement session in their home, this – this little photo – was the inspiration for it all. Claire and Evan had no idea what twists and turns their lives would take over the next few years, but ultimately they ended up together. They are snuggled in close, with huge smiles as they are preparing to vow their forevers to each other.
When Claire reached out about doing their engagement photos at home with their sweet Willa and their chickens (all named after influential women, btw), I was beyond excited. I got to see this little family in their space and really see their relationships. Special places that hold so much meaning are great options for engagement sessions! Everything felt so calm, so real, and just plain happy. I loved every minute of it.
After the photos at home, Claire, Evan and I ventured to a nearby garden for some final sunset portraits and holy cow did this garden show off for us! It was yet another perfect backdrop for this stunning couple. Enjoy these photos of this beautiful family. I hope it gets you as excited as I am for their destination wedding in Blacksburg!
