I love the Baker family! This was our second session together and it was so fun to see how little Leilani had grown. Hanako and Paul wanted to get photos taken as a family when their sweet daughter turned two. On the day of their portrait session, I was sad that it was raining because shooting outdoors is definitely my favorite place to be. But when it finally came time to meet, there was a beautiful break in the weather and we got to go out into the open.
I think that taking photos outdoors is so liberating for kidlets. Freedom helps kids be more themselves and not feel so strange in front of my camera. 🙂 We let Leilani do her thing for a while and the photos we were able to capture were so sweet. Not only did we get some good posed portraits, we got some really wonderful images of her in action. She is a spitfire little girl with so much energy!
I think the best part of this session was seeing how her relationship with her parents had deepened. Even though it had only been six months since I’d seen them, it was amazing how much more she was able to communicate with them. It’s crazy how much toddlers change in such a short time!
Here are some of my favorites from our session. Enjoy!
