You’ve been preparing for your wedding day for what feels like forever! My job as your photographer is to help you capture every little thing – from the invitation suites you spent hours addressing to the groomsmen in their matching socks to your dad seeing you in your dress for the first time to your grandma killing it on the dance floor. Each of these little moments is so significant and tells the story of your day!
When I show up on your wedding day, I like to get there while you are getting your hair and make-up ready. Before you get your dress on, the very first thing I like to do (besides giving you a big hug!) is gather all of your little details and document them. All of them. I do my very best to capture your details in a way that really showcases the style of your wedding day.
Here are a few of the things I recommend you have ready!
- the dress
- veil / hair pieces
- rings (all three!)
- shoes
- bouquet & boutonniere
- jewelry you will be wearing
- invitation suite
- anything borrowed & blue
This is just a beginning list. There are so many other things that may be important to you that need to be captured! Maybe you will have a handkerchief that your grandmother embroidered for you. Bring it! Maybe you prepared a special gift for your parents – a matching brooch and tie tack. Bring it!
So many brides I have met have told me they didn’t feel like their details were “photo worthy” because they weren’t heirloom pieces. I’m here to tell you that all of your details are photo worthy! No matter what! They are what make up your wedding and you deserve to have these memories preserved. And don’t you worry. They will look beautiful.
After capturing your details, I make sure to capture you and your bridesmaids getting ready, you getting into your dress, your mom helping you zip it up, and all the finishing touches.
Look at the details I’ve been able to capture and how unique they are to each couple!
