Sydney's love for photography began early in childhood, capturing her world with whatever point-and-shoot camera was available and scanning film slides for cookbooks in her parents' graphic design studio. Sydney's undergraduate years led her to a semester in Paris to study architecture and art history and where she, of course, took photographs of everything. She later began a career in the university archives, sneaking into the Photography Collection and dark room any chance she could to pour through the hundreds of thousands of images.
After becoming a mother, Sydney decided to intentionally pursue photography and has since photographed couples and events across the world. Today her photographic approach is focused on storytelling - part editorial and part photojournalistic. Her work captures excitement, joy, and connection - connections between couples, their loved ones, and their favorite places.
